    Well worth a visit
We wandered down to the quay side area and popped into the Lowry. Lovely staff on arrival one to check bags and another to direct you around the place. Head up the escalators to the gallery space. Went to sed the Hew Locke exhibition, which was stunning, an artist I had not heard of. His art is thought provoking and there is an opportunity to make your own clay models. There is an extensive collection of works by Lowry along with other artists. These are accompanied by notes and videos explaining the works and his life. Found it very informative and did not know he drew and painted so much and in different ways. The building itself is something just to wander round in, very impressive. If got an hour and in the area please do pop in.

    Afternoon tea
We had a wonderful afternoon tea at the Riverside Restaurant today. I’d had a very disappointing experience previously but today was just perfect. Rebecca, Andrea and Naila were so polite and accommodating and made us feel very welcome. Callum took the time to talk to us and recommend other venues to visit

Nice venue but avoid the NCP!
We visited for a Chris Hadfield show one weekday evening. The venue itself is quick and easy to get into, easy to find our seats and plenty of toilets. However the closest car park is the NCP which was a nightmare to get out of after the show. There only seemed to be a pay machine on the ground floor by the exit and there was an enormous queue to get out and we were queuing for around 25 minutes just to pay for the parking.

    Very Enjoyable Experience.
We booked to see Him and Me evening performance which was soo funny with great dancing and laughter. We had also pre booked a meal in their restaurant. The parking was so easy and very close. We were served in the restaurant by Lisa who was so friendly, knowledgeable about the menu and venue. The meal was delicious and thanks to Lisa and the staff in both the restaurant and the theatre our experience was first class. Many thanks everyone. Colin & Sally (Cheshire).

    Smashing venue
Smashing venue. Visited here in May to watch a play with my mum and was pleasantly surprised. The seats never seem to accommodate my long legs but there was plenty of room. Ample car park a short distance away and surrounded by a variety of restaurants to eat. Theatre was clean and spacious and the staff were extremely helpful. Great night.

Matchstick men and Matchstick cats and dogs
My main aim was to visit the Lowry collection and this exhibition surpassed expectations. The introductory video is excellent and complements the exhibition, I really would recommend watching it as it brings the pictures to life. There is a lovely mix of Lowry’s work and despite being keen to see the ‘matchstick men’ it was other works which I was most taken by. Whilst it is a 5 star exhibition, it was marred by the behaviour of a few children in the area waiting for the Gruffalo exhibition adjacent to it. Parents were allowing their children to run and shout in the corridor not realising the impact on others’ experiences. I only noted excellent behaviour by those children in the Lowry hall looking at the pictures. After the Lowry, we did go into the Julia Donaldson / Axel Schaffer exhibition, it is designed for children but I enjoyed looking at the notebooks, sketches and learning about the writer / illustrator experience. There were lots of interactive experiences for children

    Good event
Visited the Lowry today for the Julia Donaldson exhibition, really good my five year old enjoyed it and having read all the books numerous times was in his element. Surprised it was a free event, should be charging in my opinion. Parking nearby, reasonably priced, avoid buying drinks etc at the Lowry complete overcharge

    I love the Lowry
I absolutely love the Lowry. It's a place you can go to do so much more than see a show. The galleries always have dynamite temporary shows plus a permanent exhibit of L.S. Lowry's work. The food available at the bar is top notch. When you go during the summer holidays, the typically have a number of events and activities dedicated to littles. I cannot recommend the pies enough from the Bar. It's a lovely walk from Old Trafford, the Imperial War Museum, and Media City.

    Izzard at the Lowry buzzing!
Went to see Eddie Izzard at the Lowry last night. Performance was excellent and Eddie was buzzing! Fantastic show. The experience at the Lowry was tremendous. All the staff there were friendly, approachable and helpful. Very refreshing. The venue itself although not huge is very well laid out. The banking's are very steep meaning that no-matter where you sit you get a great view. It doesn't matter if someone tall is sitting in front of you. We were on the second to last row of the upper circle and saw everything. The seats are clean and comfortable. All theaters should be like this.

    Trip to see Simon Reeve
Came last week with a couple of friends to see our hero, Simon Reeve. We weren’t disappointed! The Lowry is a lovely venue. Very much enjoyed the art exhibition upstairs. The only thing we commented on was the shop. The place was packed and we would certainly have gone in and more than likely bought something, had it been open…..

Took my disabled daughter to the Lowry which we visit regularly. My daughter got a bit upset so the staff member spoke to the lady in charge and we were relocated to another part of the theatre. Staff are always helpful and we love attending this theatre.

This was not a five star experience at this hotel. On arrival or checkout, there was no valet service at all, we were told there is only one valet and he had gone home. The Bell boy was at reception and watched us struggle up the hotel steps six/seven steps to the entrance and once we were in the hotel only then came over to check if we wanted our luggage taking the very short distance over to the lift and up to our room. The room itself looked lovely on first appearance however on checking the bathroom door was patched up following significant damage looked like a hole had been kicked or made through the door and the mattress was very old and covered in dark stains ?urine or vomit it was disgusting. I have taken photographs of the mattress. The offer include a three course evening meal, the starter consisted one ravioli in a sauce, the main we choose was at most a third of a Chicken breast with a sauce and parsnip curls. It was about the size of a small child`s portion. We complained to the receptionist and requested that she checked the state of the room/mattress and how disappointing the meal and whole experience was.

This is my third visit to The Lowery since November 2023. It is now my favourite venue for plays and gigs in The North West. Acess to tickets and the venue is outstanding as are the staff.

The seats are great, the inside snd outside of the building is impeccable as are the bars and food areas .

The views of the stage and acoustics are second to non. Performances are always on time , high quality and outstanding value.

We had seats on the front row of the upper circle to see The King and I this afternoon. The show was outstanding in every way and a real treat to see such a wonderful performance from Helen George and all the cast! However the seating was really disappointing. We chose the front row of the upper circle hoping to have a good uninterrupted view of the stage- wich would have worked but the high barrier in front of the seats completely obscured our view if we sat back in our seats- the barrier is very high and we had to lean forward to look over the barrier to see the stage. The leg room is also very tight indeed for anyone over 5'6"- and I do think both of these factors need to be highlighted on the booking forms. Several people around us found the same problem with the height of the barrier and several people moved to empty seats in the interval. A bit of a shame as the theatre is lovely but we will only be returning if we can get end of row seats with a bit more legroom for comfort as my husband is 6 ft tall and found the legroom far too tight. I am only 5ft 3 inches and could not see over the barrier unless I sat forward- or sat on my coat! Not ideal as tickets cost £40 each but the show more than made up for it!

Whilst on a trip to see family in Manchester, popped down to the Media City area for a look at the Lowry. Great place in an interesting redeveloped area. I specifically wanted to see the Lowry collection and it did not disappoint. Great venue and a good hour or two spent. Very accessible by tram as well!

This is a really nice theatre! Not too big but not too small either. Well stocked bar and areas to sit before the show. Also very close to a choice of restaurants. If you have time, go and see the Lowry exhibition too!

I have previously visited for Lowry's artwork but when I heard there was a Julia Donaldson exhibition I knew I'd have to take the children here for that. It did not disappoint, it was bright, colourful and very interactive. My children especially enjoyed the colouring, writing and storytelling sections. There was plenty for all ages of children. The cafe was quite expensive but ok for a coffee as there is a little gruffalo's kitchen for the children. I have booked a theatre show for February to try out the lyric theatre with the children that I'm looking forward to. There is a metro link station nearby for people who can't drive, accessible from Manchester and Bury.
