I spent part of a pleasant afternoon walking through this cathedral, which was built over 800 years. The history is clearly displayed, from the simple inital wall built in the 11th century through its completion in the 19th century. I found the exterior, which is partially cleaned and partially soiled over the ages, to be most interesting. The interior decoration... More

We attended a organ recital in the Cathedral and would recommend this as it was beautiful and uplifting, especially in the Cathedral setting with brilliant acoustics. We had found out about it by chance when attending a service. There was no enterance fee to the Cathedral and the recital was free, donations are anticipated however these are at a level that... This cathedral is by far the best cathedral we have ever been. If you have visited this cathedral, you would feel that Notre dame in Paris is so-so and nothing compare to St Andre. We couldnt believe such a beautiful cathedral could be so under-rated and has never been listed as the top 5 cathedral to visit. When we first... More

We only took a few minutes to have a look but it is a very impressive building, similar to Notre Dame in Paris, as others have said. More

Beautiful stunning Cathedral... very awe inspiring when you walk in.. it is really out of this worrld. This does not detract from the stunning gothic architecture that is the outside of this beautiful catedral. Dont forget to look up and see the statues in Gold, if on a sunny day they are absolutely stunning!! Worth a visit!! More

Nice to look at and free entry so no money wasted here - not the most impressive Cathedral I have been to, and the people selling inside were in a bit of poor taste. More

This was my wife's favorite cathedral of the many that we visited throughout France. Bigger and more grand than Notre Dame in Paris (and all the other Notre Dame cathedrals in other cities). It helps when a local becomes pope and pumps money into construction. Consider climbing the tower next door for a great few of the city and the... More

The Cathedral is lovely. One night we heard the choir practicing -- memorable. However, the inside is very plain. Best viewed a night from the outside. Life around cathedral is lively. BEWARE of the tower next to the Cathedral -- took 15 students up and was not sure i could make it -- so confined. I don't have claustrophobia but... More

If you get the chance and have just about an hour to spare... it's recommended that you just sit and listen to the resident organist at on of her recitals... never dont it before but will do it again. Oh and it seem pricey but grab the CD while your there... wish I did! More

We visited the church in the afternoon after the visit to the other parts of the city. We were so very tired and so we sit down to rest a little and also to better see the interior of the cathedral. I can say that staying sitting and just watching around you you can see some particulars (especially sculptures) that... More
