Combourg is a quaint little town that is dominated by an impressive Chateau.

We went to Combourg primarily to visit the Monday market and let our daughter practice her French - very enjoyable and a lovely atmosphere - and stumbled on the chateau which dominates the skyline of the town with wonderful pepperpot turrets. After picking up information at the Tourist Information we followed signs to the entrance around the grounds walls only...

Sorry but was really not impressed with this one - beautiful from the outside, but was rather dirty and the contents could have been bought from a second hand shop. You cannot expect the same standard as in the Loire, but even so it was a disappointment.
