The furnishings and exhibits make this castle/chateau one of the best to visit, and the waxworks and history video worked surprisingly well to both entertain and inform; same for the drawbridge ceremony.

Being tidied up. A Real castle, will appeal to small children for this reason alone.

I've been to Langeais twice, as it is easily accessible by train from Paris. On its grounds are some truly ancient sites, including parts of the original fortress from the early Middle Ages. The main château retains much of its original furnishings (largely from the reign of Louis XI).

It's a nice town and the chateau is central to it. It is not in the same league as Chambord, Chenonceau, Amboise etc. but is interesting none the less.

My husband and three children loved this chateau. They have a great scavenger hunt brochure for the kids in English and a fantastic tree house out in the garden. The views are great as well. My kids profess to "hate" museums, but they really liked this one.

I like the ambiance of the chateau and the simplicity of the park.

As the other reviews indicate, Chateau Langeais has much to offer and avoids some of the pitfalls of other chateau. Avoiding some of the disadvantages, it is reasonable in size, not packed with tourists, and is located in a cute town. In this one location are the following to see: 10C donjon, 1491 chateau in one style (built quickly and...

Interesting park with a great tree-house for children to run around at the back of the castle. Quaint little castle, not too overwhelming and not a final destination.
