This tour of the Mercier caves starts with a glass elevator descent to the caves with commentary as we descended. We toured the caves sitting in an open train with commentary as we nagivated the underground passageways. Tours available about every 45 minutes, so no need to make reservations.

I credit my visit to Mercier and the subsequent tour of their cellars to teaching me 99% of what I know about champagne. The tour starts with a short film on the history of Mercier, after which the group takes an elevator-ride down to the bowels of the cellars. The elevator-ride itself is quite fun, as one wall of the...

Mercier offers interesting tours and good tastings. It's easy enough to do if you're staying in Epernay and worthwhile.

This was our first visit to the Champagne region- this was a great start to the tour as it is really interactive with the train in the cellars and interesting facts. The tasting was also great and I would recommend going for all three tastings as the Vintage is by far the best.

Informative, fun and starts by getting the visitor into the mood with a panoramic film of the Mercier founder, the Champagne house and champagne in general.
Probably the best champagne trip in the region, unless you have been able to book a personalised visit to one of the houses.
A personalised trip is more informative but some houses will not...

Mercier was recommended to us by locals when we showed up in the area without any prior bookings. We'd seen Moet, Castellane and a few other big names on the way, but took the advise and did not regret it.
As a tourist attraction, it succeeds in presentation, comprehensibility and attractiveness to an international audience. The audioguides come in several...

This was my second visit to Mercier, first with my sister with a group after a wedding we attended in Epernay, and the second with my boyfriend the following year. The best guided tour for a champagne house ever, the tastings were obviously soo delicious that during our trek through Europe half my suitcase was filled with bottles of this...
