booked a 2pm tour and had time to climb the tour and see the museum before, lovely view from the top of the tour (on a clear day) and the museum could be great for those who have brought kids. The tour itself is interesting and not too long, the tasting could have been more informative and in a more... More

We showed up a few minutes past five and were informed that we missed the last tour of the day. Nonetheless, we were allowed in to take a look around the museum (which included a history of lithography, on top of all the champagne-related paraphernalia). The architecture of the building is remarkable; it's worth visiting for all the photos one... More

We enjoyed a really good guided tour in English with a friendly and informative guide. Make sure you visit this house for a tour! Like many big names (Moet & Chandon, Mercier, etc) Champagne De Castellane in Epernay offers a guided tour through its cellars, but the thing that makes this tour truly different is the openness they have about... Very interetsing as you actually see the champagne making process and climb to the top of the tower for a good view of Epernay. More

The Castellane site is located just off the 'Avenue de Champagne' on the eastern side of Epernay. The tour costs just €10 and is excellent value for money and most informative. Access to an extensive 'history of champagne' museum, a trip up the 230-ish step Castellane tower (excellent views bust a tough climb!), AND the tour of the production facility,... More

As others have said, Castellane are completely upfront and honest about how champagne is now produced i.e. extremely large Stainless Steel vats rather than oak casks etc. The tour is very informative, our guide was really good and, considering that it was her first time in English, she did really well; anxious that she had sufficiently answered any questions we... We did the Castellane tour immediately after Mercier, which turned out to be great for us. Castellane is open later, so if you want to do both I'd recommend doing Mercier at 2p when they open and then walking to Castellane. While Mercier is a bit "flashier", Castellane is much more personal and our English speaking guide was very helpful... More
