Despite the building not being as impressive as the Cathedral, I probably enjoyed it more. It had a rather sombre air to it, since I visited in late December, in late afternoon. Between the basilica and the cathedral I must say, we preferred the basilica. It has been cleaned and restored and is such a lovely building to visit. The organ here is a must see, it too has been restored to it's original and probably better state. As there are a lot less tourists, there's a special feeling about the place... more
