We visited Les Egouts de Paris with our children; 6, 10, and 13. We all enjoyed it and the boys were delighted to see a swimming rat. Amazingly, every street is labeled below with the same blue and white street signs you see above. Some of the technical aspects were less interesting to the kids but they thought it was... More

Sure, it pongs and its opposite the Baton Mouche ( fly) terminal, appropriately enough. Check out the new flushing boats. Brilliant. A city beneath a city and above another ( the catacombs). Its a sewer - you expect it to smell nice ? Dont really understand people claim they went to a sewer and it was smelly. Eeeer, yes. Audio... More

I happened to go to the Sewer Museum on a day that was free. I am glad I did not spend money on it. The smell is so bad that lingering to actually read and explore the displays was NOT an option. I went thru it quickly and the displays did not seem all that eye catching anyway. It is... More

Interesting museum. Learning how a major city took care of the waste problem, allowing it to grow is interesting. It is for sure a special visit to make during your holidays. Great for kids and for people who just need to know how problems are solved. More

I was just walking past and thought, hey, what the hell... It does smell a little, but enough that you can't bear it. The 'waste' you see most is from gutter drains, so don't worry, you're not likely to see floaties... It's a great history lesson on the sewerage system of paris and it's quite cheap, so why not. It... More

The kids weren't impressed at all by this museum, but us adults liked the rare opportunity to see "what lies beneath" Paris and of course every other city in the Western world. In the UK this sort of "attraction" would never be allowed on the grounds of "health and safety" so top marks to the French for enabling visitors to... More

The museum seemed to be quite old, with few changes since it was created, but it's cheap and seems to be one the less traveled attractions in Paris. If you've been to the catacombs and enjoyed that I would also recommend this place. It is cheap, and you get to see the different aspects of a modern sewers; it's smelly... More

Think sewer, and most people think of smelly, gross, dark underground tunnels. But leave it to the city of Paris to create a gem of a museum, if not a novelty for visitors to experience. Besides the viewing (and smelling) of the vast underground rivers, there is an actual museum assembled in these crypts. The museum is modern, nicely laid... More

Had I not had a museum pass, I would have been pissed (LOL) to have spent the money on this museum. Unless you are into stinky sewers, this is a site to miss. More

It really doesn't smell THAT bad. Okay, maybe in the occasional spot. It's quite tastefully done, considering it's a museum located in a sewer. We enjoyed the self guided tour which had English descriptions and was easy to follow along. If you like unique educational experiences and exploring underground this is a great museum to visit.
