Invalides and Napolean's Tomb is a Tier-2 site. I finally went here on my 4th trip to Paris. The museum was OK. Not my thing. Napolean's Tomb is better. Napolean’s Tomb is as grand and ostentatious, as you might imagine for a pint-sized man with a giant-sized ego. I’m quite glad we took the time this trip to go here,... more

A short walk from the Eiffel Tower, and a must go! We arrived as they opened on a Sunday in June. Pretty empty first thing. Walk around the court yard area. Then buy ticket to go inside and to the army museum. The army museum (at least the part with the medievil armor) was so cool. You just can't see... more

We were absolutely blown away by Les Invalides, by both the buildings (the detail inside is incredible), and the museums. I was luckier than most, since my boyfriend is very knowledgeable about weaponry and military history, so I learned even more than from the display descriptions. One bit of advice - be sure to check all the museum hours ahead... more

So much to see. In fact, make that too much to see. You could easily spend two days looking around this museum. Almost all of the displays are described in both French and English so you don't have to try and guess using school boy French what everything is. more

I can see Les Invalides from my apartment bright and clear every night and I must say I couldn't be happier! MANY people come everyday whether it be on tour buses or just by themselves. I have been there several times just because I can't believe just how breath-taking it is! Be sure to bring your camera to capture these... more

I would say that this is one of the most interesting places to visit in Paris especially if you're interested in history. Other sites give you great views of the city but this place can actually keep you entertained for hours. There are rooms featuring artefacts, maps, videos from both world war one and world war two - all very... more

You can spend a long time here if you want. The war museums if you're into history and even if not worth a look if for nothing else the equipment used in each era. The church itself is just beautiful, then with Napoleons tomb in back (attached, whichever) to the larger church it's just a great place to visit. I'd... more

However, the museum of the world war (in the first floor) is extremely detailed and information is presented both in france and english. more

The best metro station to get off at is Ecole Militaire (line 8) as the ticket office is in the south western tip of the Museum. From there it's a 10 minute walk along the Avenue de Tourville or you can take the number 82 or 92 bus from right outside the station. It's only one stop. Once you've got... more
