Well...the Eiffel Tower. It's not the Smith Tower or the Johnson Tower, it's the Eiffel Tower. It's the most recognized stucture on Earth for a reason. I think it is the most beautiful structure man has ever created. (We see CN Tower in Toronto from our window). We first sighted the tower from the front of the Louvre Pyramid on... more
Without a doubt, I love the Eiffel Tower. It's beautiful from every angle, from any distance, day or night. I was slightly less impressed, however, with the views from the tower than I was with views of the tower. We climbed from the ground to the first level, which was easily manageable for only moderately in-shape 30 year-olds. Then we... more
I got to go to the 3rd level of the Eiffel Tower September 16, 2008. I was glad I did. The views from up there were awesome! I was able to take a number of great photos up there. That said, there was one major drawback to this attraction: queues/lines. The day I went, the line was short to get... more
I arrived at the eiffel tower about half an hour before it opened and the queues were starting to form around one of the legs of the tower, when it actually opened however everyone was directed towards another leg meaning places in the queue were lost!! We decided instead of queuing in a queue we should have been at the... more
No matter how impressive you think the Eiffel tower is going to be when you see it for the first time it's even more impressive. We saw it the first night from a river cruise, went to it early evening and went to the top, the 45 min wait for the frist elevator and 20 min wait for the second... more
We walked to Arc de Triomphe from the Hilton and hopped on the double decker bus tour. We took this all around Paris and got off at Tour Eiffel. We walked a few blocks to the left and found a nice little market and purchased wine, duck faux gras, salami, cheeses and fruits. There was a little sandwich shop next... more
A visit to Paris is incomplete without going up the Eiffel Tower, but plan your trip and prepare to stand in line for 2 hours. It is the most famous destination in Europe after all. It gets overcrowded too and all the waiting around and squashing against people can make the trip a bit disappointing. The views are of course... more
We left our visit to the Eiffel Tower until our very last evening in Paris, after queueing at the north leg for about 45mins we paid the €12 to go stright to the top. The views were spectacular over Paris, it was magical being there watching the sun set and the tower itself turn blue, After nearly an hour we... more
Paid the full whack of €12 to go right to the top. Levels 1 and 2 are about €4and €7 respectively. Took about 1 hour queing on North leg, made up of two separate queues - one to get to level 2 and then next to go to the top. Then you have to queue to go down again. However... more
