The Louvre is a museum that is definitely an attraction that takes a full day and even more, if you're an avid art lover. The journey begins with the glass pyramid where you enter below in the main lobby to purchase tickets, books, food, maps and general info. The galleries then split into 4 stairwells/entrances. (This is when the map... more

I've been to the Louvre twice. I'm very happy that they moved the Mona Lisa to a larger room so that you can actually stand and look at the painting rather than being herded through the smaller room it was in before. I wish I could have stayed longer. It is definitely worth the price of admission. more

I knew the Musée du Louvre was big but not huge! You could easily spend days in here and still not see everything. My wife and I like art as much as the next person but by the time we left the Musée du Louvre we were sick of art and our feet hurt. That being said DO NOT miss... more

The Louvre offers a great collection of beautiful and valuable art. However, I was a little frustrated with the presentation of the Mona Lisa (possibly because that was the only item in the collection for which I had an opinion beforehand). The Mona Lisa has a wall all to itself and is protected by glass, and there are several barriers... more

One of the greatest collections of art and culture on the whole planet... If you miss it, you will never forgive yourself. I recommend to book a tour or an official guide, so you can skip the long lines. The museum is HUGE so it can take weeks to admire it all, but the tour guys will take you only... more

This musuem, by far, exceeded every expectation I had. We could have spent our entire stay in Paris gazing around The Louvre. Despite the crowds, you can manuever around well and we only experienced congestion around a few key "must-sees." Here are a few recomendations: (1) Pay the 6 lbs and get the audio tour. Since everything is in French... more

As if the exterior architecture wasn't already amazing... you could spend days here looking over the numerous works of art that are on display on the museum. It's completely baffling how the artists were able to create such masterpieces without any of the technology that exists in today's world. Not to mention trying to figure out the reasoning behind each... more

My fiance, 36, and I, 27, travel a lot because of our career, and we have always loved history and science museums, but we were surprised at how much we enjoyed the Louvre. We went on a Wednesday night around 6 PM, and we didn't have to wait in line at all. We used the self service ticket kiosks to... more

We never managed to fit the Louvre in previous visits to Paris. We know the place is vast and even if you look at each exhibit for a mere three seconds it will still take you over three months to see each exhibit on display. So from the start we knew we would not see everything and we had no... more

I'll be honest I've never been into Museums, but my boyfriend insisted for the Louvre so we took a tour with MyParisiantour.com (I wrote about their Notre Dame Towers tour in the Notre Dame section too) to make sure we got something out of it. Apart skipping the line, which was an obvious huge advantage -- this is quite possibly... more
