This had been given rave reviews by folks as a must see. I enjoyed it, but not as much as I thought I would. There was A LOT in it, but I can't say I quite remember much! I might not try to so hard to seek it out had I known what was there. More

This often overlooked museum contains some of my favorite paintings in Paris. It's a history of Paris with some paintings showing various periods of the city and its growth. Models of the city helped me understand how to get around. All the exhibits and work are high-quality and give one the sense of the growth of population, arts, and culture... More

The Carnavalet should appear to those knowledgeable about French history as well as those who want to know more. It includes fascinating items from the C16th to the C20th. Big themes are covered such as the Wars of Religion and the French Revolution. Some of the more wonderful items are the architectural masterpieces such as the Mucha shop and the... More

I love this museum....you really get to see how Paris has developed over time. Get the audio guide if you don't read French as all the plaques are just in French. There is a new exhibit of old street signs and don't miss the complete jewelry store display from the belle époque on the top floor. Worth a visit and... More

I know that you have to go to the Louvre when you are in Paris, but besides the Mona Lisa and a few other celebrated art works, nothing really spoke to me. However, I adored the Musee Carnavalet. It is much less crowded than other museums and there was had a ton of interesting paintings etc that traced the history... More
