There are 2 buildings. Comparative Anatomy is the place to go. The selection of skeletons is astounding. It makes a fabulous picture spot, too! The first floor is dedicated to animals that still exist. The second floor is fossils and dinosaurs. If you read the specimen cards, you will see that some of them have been on display since the... This museum was not a very touristy place (at the time of visit), which was nice. I found it prior to travelling by chance in a small magazine article. I decided to visit upon my next trip to Paris, and I am glad I did! The first thing you notice when entering the huge museum atrium are the gargantuan whale... More

Disappointed. The museum was very dark inside, this was fine when looking at the larger exhibits but is was difficult to see the details of the smaller items in the cases. Other than the main floor, the museum felt as if they were trying to fill space, where they did not really have anything to fill it with. Beautiful building... More

I cannot even imagine what this place would be like if the movie, "Night at the Museum" were true and were to happen here. We visited this museum on a complete whim. I literally opened up my Paris guide book, closed my eyes, and moved my finger around on the page until a friend said stop and that is how... More

The museum is a little too academic - with its focus on taxonomy, the museum fails to engage. For some reason that the philistine in me failed to comprehend, the museum is darkened to a point where I just felt like taking a nap (it was a bright sunny day outside). The museum will certainly appeal to the enthusiast and... More

Despite what other reviews say they should NEVER CHANGE A THING. This is a time capsule of what a museum was like, and indeed much of what is good about a museum that is missing in the modern "interactive" "Disney theme park" type museums so popular today. Kids get to really SEE and look at bone structure. Perfect harmony between... More

The exhibits are somewhat interesting, but what this really is, is a museum of how museums were in the 19th century. Kids will love the fetuses and weird animals preserved in formaldehyde for the last 100 years. Some decent dinosaurs too. More

It cost 7 euros for my admittance, my 21 year old was free. The museum is laid out atrium style with the first floor devoted to sea creatures, then land and air animals on the higher floors. Although information was in French (except for the dodo bird room), it made our visit more interesting. We love natural history museums and... More

This museum could be very educational. If you are into taxidermy. It is filled with many animals, from all over the world. There are also exhibits about things like evolution and DNA. The architecture of the building is lovely, but the whole thing gave me the willies. More
