We have seen the Statue of Liberty in Colmar, France; the birthplace of the architect Frederic-Auguste Bartholdi. We thought it would be nice to visit Lady Liberty while we're in Paris. The original inspiration of the Statue of Liberty is in Jardin du Luxembourg. If you have time you can visit that too.

Here on a boat cruise you can see the original statue of Liberty. We had a group of Americans on a lunch cruise with alot of wine consumed that started singing' New York New York'. Most enjoyable and totally unexpected.

The Statue of Liberty itself is not as impressive as the one in the harbor in New York. However, it is not a contest and that is not the point. The Paris Statue is away from most of the tourist sites and extremely less crowded. If you are in shape, take the walk from the Statue to the Eiffel Tower...

It was really cool to go to see, but when you go down to the island where the statue is it is kind of iffy. By all means you should go and see but be careful of your surroundings. It is free to see and is walk able

We rushed to see the Statue of Liberty and were really disappointed. Not only its quite far away to walk (from Eiffel tower) through an industrial area and along a high traffic road, but when we arrived, we were surprised the statue was facing the opposite direction than we expected. Obviously its facing the right direction consireded its greeting boats...

Best part of visiting the Statue of Liberty on the Isle de Grenelle was the beautiful walk (albeit very long) under canopy of trees and next to the Seine River was the fact the Parisiens were thoughtful to erect this statue. Once at the Statue of Liberty you realize it is smaller than I thought it was going to be....
