The great thing about Rue Cler is that it is just like being dropped right smack in the middle of Pasadena. This attraction should be send down the ladder. Forget the restaurants - you get that food anywhere in paris. The shops were nothing special or innovative. Save your time and go to an open market on a Saturday. more

Rue Cler was definitely worth the visit, but on the recommendations of 2 other reviewers, we ate at Cafe Rousillon. Service was OK, but the food was barely edible. Based on the comments here, we visited the street on Sunday morning in Aug. BIG disappointment! Most shops were closed, the ones that were open were very touristic. Some foodshops didn't look that bad, but I definitely prefer Rue Mouffetard for specialty shops and nice atmosphere. In short: not bad to live in, but not worth the detour! more

We went to Rue Cler as the sun was setting and were disappointed to see the shops were just closing up. I recommend visiting before things close down as it looked like a quaint little street with vendors and their wares spilling out onto the cobblestone street.
