I have been going to the Mauber Mutualite market and its surrounding stores for more than twenty years. Whether in Paris on business or pleasure, I love to go back for a snack or a cafe creme. What makes MMM fun is that it is definately not a tourists market for the most part, but part of the neighborhood. The... More

We walked through this market on Tuesday morning and were impressed with how many stalls there were. A lot of great looking produce, seafood, and meats. I only wish I'd had a kitchen to use all of it in! More

If you are staying in a hotel near this wonderful market, stop by for a visit. It is open Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 7 to 2:30, and provides a wonderful selection of fresh fruit and vegetables, cheese, breads, pastries, meats, fish and seafood, as well as other goods. The vendors were very friendly and approachable, even with my limited... More

This market is held every other day if my memory serves me correctly. It is a cornucopia of foods, clothes, nick-nacks, & jewelery. My wife and I always go there when it's open. Some of the vendors speak English...but, most do not. So, sharpen up your French and your bargaining skills and give this market a look-see. It's right at... More

We came upon this market by accident, trekking up from Mouffetard on our way to Notre Dame for Sunday mass. It was a perfect way to start our week-long visit in Paris. The market is perfectly situated on the west side of the Latin Quarter and occupies a nice large triangle right off St. Germain. They have a fishmonger, a... More

In two different stays in Paris, we have lived close enough to shop at Maubert Mutualite market also known as Carmes. Whatever you buy, you know it will be ready to be eaten today and not have to put it on the counter for 5 days to ripen. Great selection of cheeses and other dairy items. This June, we have... More
