Worth strolling down on a nice day; stop for coffee or an apero at Les Deux Magots. More

This was right behind Notre Dame. We stopped in on a Saturday and there was a service going on. Beautiful. Make a stop here, even for 5 minutes you can't go wrong. More

Parisien area without the American chains. Everything one could want while visiting Paris. Close to the Louvre, Musee D'Orsay. Nice restaurants, local vibe for cafe's wine and people watching More

You really need to do your homework here as you could easily spend days seeing the many varied sites in this district. The restaurants are varied, the literary s"spots" are many, the fashion stores are by the hundreds.....then there are the history/church sites to see. But whatever you decide on, this is a marvellous section of the city. More

We liked the restaurants/bars and locals we mixed with. The small, narrow streets and multiple Metro stations made it a joy to explore. Dislikes would have to be the idiots on mopeds who appear to be oblivious to anyone and anything around them More

When in St. Germain De Pres neighborhood, do NOT miss Un Dimanche a Paris and Piere Herme. They both have amazing chocolates, with Un Dimanche a winner in the overall ambience award and Piere Herme the current winner in the macaron chocolate category--but still tasting them all over to keep the competition going. Stayed for 6 weeks a block away and it became our main artery to getting everywhere. Lots of tourists, but lots of locals too. It is a fast way to get around because all the streets that are perpendicular are very narrow and crowded. Take time to look in all the boutique windows. great Monoprix (grocery store) on Rue de... Rented an apartment for 9 nights near St. Germain Church. 1/2 or less miles to the Lourve, Notre Dame, Luxembourg Gardens, St. Sulpice, D'Orsay, Tuilleries. Only slightly further to the Pantheon, Grand/Petit Palais, Orangerie. Great location. More
