Of all the many parks in Paris, the Vincennes is the closest to a real forest you'll find in Paris. Lots of winding dirt paths through the trees and the sound of cars isn't too near (although they can be heard in the distance).

Easy access to the Chateau Vincennes (the oldest standing castle from the middle ages...King Charles V) from the end of Metro 1. There is a lovely Chapelle inside the fortress, also. The Marquis de Sade, and many other well known French were imprisoned in this Keep over a couple hundred years. From here it is a quick walk to the...

It's a really pleasant park. It's big and there is a good space for biking, walking, skating, ... and also for making a picnic.
There is a beautiful lake that you can practice a little of rowing.
There is also a small castle and church in the middle of it, introducing another charm on it.

Very, very beatiful, and away of the crowded city center.
You can spend a day here and take a picnic, walk around the Paris Parc Floral, go to...

This huge park features several lakes, wooded areas, open fields, carousels, gardens, and sports facilities. I spent a few hours exploring the area during an early morning last May. I visited the Château de Vincennes and...
