St Denis has way too much history to put here. Clovis is buried here,Joan of Arc got her sword here,on and on. They are still excavating here. Downside is a really bad part of town , fine in the daytime, sorry but that's the truth. You'll see. I love the place. Go if you have time. more

A gothic style basilica were a number of monarches are buried. Thec hurch is free to visit but for the nacropolis, one has to pay. Ok, it's nice, but not great. A gem in an odd location - St Denis (the town) is less than lovely, having been swallowed up and messed with by Paris some time back.
