Four pillars capped with gold leafed sculptures surround each end of the bridge . The King of France had the bridge made as a gesture of good faith for the Russian King as at that time, they were alllies. Gorgeous sculpting on the outside of the bridge, you can see them well by taking a one hour Seine cruise... More

The four gilt bronze statues on the masonry counterweights of the bridge are instantly recognisable and provide a perfect foreground for photos including the Eiffel Tour and the gold dome of Les Invalides in the background. The bridge has beautiful cherubs along its length and nymphs in the centre of the arch as well as the art nouveau lights. TV... More

Seems I'm saying this word allot with regards to Paris. When one finishes visiting the Musee D'Orsay, just go up the street a bit and one comes to this bridge.....to me, there is no other like it. The four corner pillars are crowned with magnificent golden statues, which are truly works of art, and the width of the bridge is... More

This is probably the most beautiful bridge not only in paris but in Europe, if not the world. Built for the World's fair of 1900 which changed the life style of Paris it weighs the same weight as the Eiffel Tower built 11 years earlier. The lamps are gorgeous as well as the guilded statues on top of the four... More

As the title says, Pont Alexandre is our favorite bridge in Paris. Don't just go there to take some photos and leave. Go there spend a few moments to watch people passing by, boats passing under the bridge and look for the Eiffel Tower. More

This bridge joins the side of the Grand Palais with the avenue that leads the hotel invalides and the adjoining church. Nice view down the Seine, and to the Eiffel tower. More

Somehow, during the research I did to plan our trip to Paris, I came across something which mentioned this bridge as the most beautiful in Paris. I think that is an understatement. It is the most beautiful bridge, period. The foundation stone was laid by the last Czar of Russia and the bridge is named for his father. Ok, so... More
