This falls between the 3rd and 4th arrondisements. Nice place to imagine Paris as it was before the gigantic boulevards were put in. The narrow streets are picturesque and full of history. Explore it over a few days. The Jewish houses and stores, the quaint shops and cafes, it's got it all, plus some home-grown French shopping.

Mainly went there to visit the old Jewish quarter (rue des Rosiers) and the Holocaust Memorial (Mémorial de la Shoah). Stop by the Jewish delicatessen shops. Have a "Mame Strudel" at Florence Florence Kahn shop -- la Gastronomie Yiddish. It was so delicious!!!!

We stayed in an apartment in the Marais. It's a great location, many restaurants and shops and many young people at night. I stayed near the Pompodeu. It's very easy to walk to Ile de la Cite and Notre Dame and Latin Quarter. Le Hale is virtually across the street. The Louve is a bit longer walk but doable

Interesting shops, squares and a few museums. Very walkable along Rue de Rivioi and side streets. Lots of places to buy food or just look.

I went shopping there. Also I couldn't find the cute little restaurant that we were recommended so we made it a day of shopping. It was great. I even bought my hubby some souvenirs.

Lots of interesting sites, stores, businesses, and old buildings. The best felafel I ever had. Marriage Freres tea room is one of a kind.
