Although surprisingly nobody I know have visited this spot, it has the most beautiful view of Paris, with the convenience of not having waiting lines and an elevator that takes only 38 seconds (yes, it's true!) to get to the top! Very good surprise and totally recommendable. more

Take a pass on the 3-hour lines to the top of the Eiffel. Think about it- the Eiffel is beautiful to look AT. If you're at the top of it, you can't see it! Go to the Montparnasse Tower and get a drink at the bar after sundown. You'll kick back and relax while looking out over a phenomenal view... more

As mentioned there are no queues here and once you get to the top you get a much better view than from the Eiffel Tower because the Eiffel Tower is included in the view. And there is lots to do other than just admire the view: there are films, a cafe, touch-screen computers. more

We went to the Eiffel Tower and were completely put off by the ridiculous queues, so decided to check out Tour Montparnasse instead.
