We love the Palace of Versailles and have visited it several times but we never have visited the Queens Hamlet. This trip we made sure we visited the Trianons and the Hamlet which was lovely. The day we visited the weather was perfect only enhancing the fairytail like village setting of the Hamlet. We used the mini train to save... More

My tip here is to suggest visitors to allocate time to visit these places. They are located a long walk away from the Main Palace and you need to go through most of the huge Gardens to get here. There are alternatives means of transport available with some payments if you need. These units show you the private, less formal... More

The Trianon palaces and the Hamelt came as a wonderful extra. The grounds are huge so be prepared for a long walk and make sure you have comfortable shoes on. Golf buggies can be hired but are costly at 30 Euros for half an hour, bikes and segways were also available for hire. The Hamlet could easily have been a... More

Worth a visit if you are planning a picnic in the park. Otherwise it shouldn't take more than a half hour all in. Do it you're doing Versailles and other things as well. More

The story goes that Marie never got along with the crowd from Versailles. She could get away and re-create the home life she had in Vienna. The Neoclassical architecture is a sight to see. Happy travels! More

I had not been aware of this hamlet prior to going to Versailles. It was absolutely charming and I could have stayed much longer. The farm animals are always fun to watch, but I really enjoyed the story behind how it came into existence. The young unaided Marie Antoinette missed her life in Austria and it was constructed to kee... More
