If you like old churches, come and see this one. There is a wealth of history and architectural styles, really interesting. Free admission so nothing to lose. They had some Russian singers doing some stunning Gregorian Chant renditions while we were there, I think they are there most days for a short while. More

Yes, it's a tourist attraction with it's beautiful stained glass windows and historic monuments such as the seige stone. However, it is still a church used by the remaining inhabitants of La Cite and it's important to be respectful in this place. Make sure you also take the time to admire the exterior architecture and the amazing gargoyles which look... More

Visitors to the city should go and look at the cathedral. It's very impressive and we managed to spot that the stained glass was the same pattern as in Notre Dame in Paris. More

Maybe it was because the weather was so dark & cold that this place repelled me. I was glad that I had brought a torch I suppose it made the contrast between the blood-stained history of persecution and the money that must have been spent on this building. It is well kept & is an interesting building - Romanasque nave... More

Bigger than you think and full of atmosphere. Free entry just donations and a number of interesting side chapels. Not completely re-built by Viollet Le Duc so some original historical parts. More

A welcome place to visit to get out of the heat of the city, cool and dark. Look at the medieval stained glass windows and see if you can spot a statue of Eric Clapton minus his guitar. St. Dominic preached here in the early 1200s. One stop history of medieval architecture- west end is romanesque, east end is gothic... More

the basilica is not as impressive as many of the cathedrals one finds in france, but it had a quality and quiet which was palpable. it actually houses the oldest organ in france, and is a wonderful place to visit, find quiet, and reflect on the 1000 years of history which have transpired in this holy place, it costs nothing...
