Attended the Metz Flea Market in Feb2009, located inside the Metz Expo building, plenty of parking. It's true that this market is a little more expensive then Tongeren, Belgium or other markets in Germany or Holland. The reason is because the items are French and French items have a higher demand and value in the US and abroad - especially in comparison to German, Dutch and Belgium antiques. Just got back from the Aug 6 Metz flea market, and I agree with the writer of the 7/05 review. We had heard such great things about the market, and were very disappointed. I went to the Metz flea market on 7/16/05. There were 5 rooms of vendors there selling lots of "old" things, but everything was so overpriced it was ridiculous! Great flea market, rivals that of Tongeren in Belgium. Everything from antique furniture to china/pottery to fabrics to mint condition Starsky et Hutch pencil boxes. It's not outdoors, it's in a collection of buildings called the Technopole on the southeast side of town. Easy to reach by car. Cash and carry only. Temperamental ATM on-site.
