We went to Lourdes to visit the Sanctuary and as long as we were there decided to visit the Fort. It was a very good decision. The Fort is really an amazing place. It is in excellent condition and there are really good displays throughout the structure. If you are going to Lourdes you really need to allot some time...

Ok for a time filler for 45 minutes - do not go in the rain but minature village if good

Great views from the top but not sure it was worth the charge in! My son loves any kind of historical sites or museums he enjoyed it.

While we were in Lourdes we were enchanted by the huge castle at the top of the hill. It is worth the 5 Euros per person. Lots of stairs to climb or YOU CAN RIDE THE ELEVATOR. Awesome views from the top. Great history, Lots of antique furniture, equipment, tools. etc. Super place to visit.

If you are visiting Lourdes on a pilgrimage or just visiting the town do try and make a little time to visit the 8th Century Château fort de Lourdes perched up above the town.
Entrance to the fort is 5 Euros, and for me well worth it, if you do not fancy the steep climb up the stairs there is...
