We made the mistake of not prepurchasing our ferry ticket on line. Went to buy our ferry ticket at terminal early in morning cost €100 for motorbike and two passengers instead of €15 we had seen on website. Other all was good More

I normally take Le Shuttle, but DFDS was recommended by a friend. If you have more time available, then the ferry crossing offers a great break from driving. Terminal in Dunkerque is rather sparse - fast food (closed on my visit) and a toilet. The ferry was pleasant, and not overful. I upgraded to 1st class (also recommended). There's a... More

We have crossed the channel with several ferry companies but our preferred shipping line is DFDS. We found the ships cleaner and staff more friendly. We discovered the very top restaurant/cafe/bistro with more comfortable chairs - also proper cups for coffee - instead of plastic/paper. Somehow or other most people seemed to stick to the lower decks! Prices to Dunkirk... More

Very busy on the Friday sailing. Lots of children, but found two seats and kept them. Very short of toilets. More

Quiet Cross-Overs, without Touring Cars & busses by regular services. Every 2 hrs a sailing. (one less on sat. evening). Verry nice, but long waiting times by check-inn. Calais services = faster check in. More

If DFDS send you an e-mail reference a sale on multiple booking deals, ignore it. I didn't and after booking 5 prepaid crossings I am beginning to realize that I have been ripped off, funnily enough after watching Watchdog regarding ticket pricing. When I purchased the tickets the small print did state that I would have to pay £30 extra... More

Travelling from Dunkirk you will quickly realise that the customer service is non existent...after asking several Feral French employees at the situation with ferry crossings during a storm they quickly responded by saying that they wished they were at home rather than working the lanes to get vehicles on board...result was chaos with no organisation...I mean how do the French... good value for money!! What you pay you'll get! don't expect a luxury trip but just the right time and service plus flexibility! I am very pleased and I will use it again and eventually recommand it to others who are not fussy about going on the other side! Cheers ! More

If you're crossing the Channel from Dover and travelling north from Calais once you get to France, why not try Dover-Dunkerque instead of Dover-Calais - Norfolk Lines (now known as DFDS Seaways) operate a ferry service as good as [in my opinion a little friendler and more efficient than] P&O / SeaFrance, to the small port of Dunkerque which is...
