Even if you only have an hour or two, this is well worth visiting. You can just pop into one or two of the galleries if necessary. An amazing selection of pictures! It's free too. Beautiful building and with the Prefectore (?) opposite it's a nice square. more

I am sure most vistors to Lille walk the sort distance to see the fantastic Palais des beaux Arts - one of my favourite museums. However I bet most people explore the picture gallerys and don't venture downstairs. In the cellar is a small, but beautifully assembled statue collection.
