“Not a good representation of the very nice Carrefour brand of hypermarket shops.”

We have shopped at Carrefour hypermarkets throughout France and Spain for years. Generally they are clean and pleasant shopping experiences very like Costco in the U.S. This location was a complete disappointment. Store was poorly lit, dark and unwelcoming. Stopped by today on a whim while we driving from Dunkerque to Kortrick. This is definitely NOT a boutique or specialty store but it is a great place to see and find a large variety of French foods, toiletries, clothing & household items. Carrefour isn't a speciality shop - it's a gigantic supermarket chain. The Lille branch does sell some local produce but far better stuff is available in the smaller shops in the old town. More
