A visit to the beautiful Omaha Beach and the American Cemetery is not to be missed as it is a very powerful reminder of the horrors of war and the bravery and sacrifice of thousands of young men who were a long way from home. The museum is excellent and enables visitors to appreciate the scale of the landings and... More

We had planned for years to visit the beaches where the Allies landed in 1944. All the reading in preparation was helpful, but our guide @normandyours.com was exceptional. It is well worth the effort to see the beaches and visit the Amerirican Cemetery. More

Every year around the 6th of June, there's a giant picnic at Omaha Beach at the Saint Laurent sur Mer sector to commemorate the D-Day landings, and even more so the friendship and pleasure that we can from life. This is really a great experience. Tables are set up on the road along the beach. You can bring your picnic... More

Although there is not a lot on the beach itself, this is a wonderful place to go and reflect before going to visit the cemetery on the hill. The bunkers are closed due to danger, so you cannot go in them. There are people from all over that come here to remember and respect those that have sacrificed most. You... More

While on our day tour of the D-Day beaches, we stopped at Omaha beach. There is an interesting sculpture by Anilor Banon right on the beach called "Les Braves". It looks like huge silver metal swords jutting out from the sand. The sculpture is for the Americans who liberated France. The beach is peaceful today with small children playing in... More

My father, along with my uncles, served in World War 2. For me, this was a must visit when I made it to France. There are many small museums to visit, but for me it was about seeing the beaches and visiting the American Cemetery. Plan on doing a good deal of walking if you want to see the entire... More

We stayed in Bayeux which we enjoyed. It was a cloudy day but somehow fitting. We visited Omaha Beach, the Normandy American Museum and Cemetery. Well worth the trip from Paris. Also went to Honfleur France up the coast, nice seaport village with good cider and Normandy Mussels. More
