We visited Omaha Beach and the American Cemetary during our Normandy day trip from Paris. It was easy to find with plenty of parking although very busy when we arrived at 4 pm. The Park is immaculate with a beautifal paths winding through the trees to the bluff overlooking the beaches. You can walk down to the water but as... more

I was first intrigued by this location after watching Saving Private Ryan. I've revisited this cemetary about 3 times - each time I leave feeling very appreciative for the sacrifices our veterans have made in WWII. On-site museum, multimedia display was very educational to myself and our kids. We visited several other local monuments, cemetaries. Location is stunning. We stayed... more

Anyone of any age would truly enjoy the experience of Martin Reeve's Normandy safaris. Finding it on the web was easy. For myself, an early teenager during WW II, it was the best historical lesson I could have encountered. The clever way which Martin unfolded the D-Day attack on Normandy brought the story to life. Roel Klinkhamer is not just a good tour guide, he is a very good teacher. He has a knack for teaching and he connects with his students, or in this case his tour guests, very powerfully. He bonds well and leads his group on an exciting tour of discovery. My wife and I were enthralled on our visit. We found... more

We met up with a personal tour guide who spent the afternoon taking us to several famous WWII sights associated with D-Day including Pointe Du Hoc, Omaha Beach, and the American Cemetary at Colleville-sur Mer. It is incredible just to see and walk the... more

My wife and I visited Normandy during July and arranged for a tour through Overlord Tours (---------). We arrived at the train station in Bayeux in early afternoon from Paris. Only planning to stay one day in Normandy we wanted to tour the WWII sites in Normandy the day we arrived before returning to Paris early the following day. Arriving... more

Unreal hope to go back again and again, would recommend the hotel by the train in bayeux for the tour. The man that runs the tour/hotel is super nice and uses a small van which holds about 8 people. He travels to all the site and the cost was less then 35 USD a person. He also makes it back... more

I can't even explain how it is to be there.. The silence, the clear water, the lovely quiet peaceful beaches (even in half july 2003) and the extreme nice people.. It seems this place will be in peace for the rest of the existence of planet earth... Is there a better answer after what happened overthere on june the 6th... more
