The details in the tapestry are very impressive, and it recounts a story in history that we are all familiar with in a unique way. The museum and video help you to understand the history and making of the tapestry... a true masterpiece! More

A walk alongside the tapestry listening to your personal recorded commentary is very educational. The images are very well preserved and a beautifully simple recording of the day of The Battle of Hastings together with the events that brought it about. More

The Tapestry is amazing, and what made it really fun was the audio that goes with it. It is really well done and made the viewing of it much more enjoyable. More

While in Bayeux, take the time to visit the museum that houses this tapestry. For some reason I thought it would be one of those huge heavy tapestries that hang in many palaces across Europe. This is much much different. It tells a complete story, the audioguide that is included in the entry fee helps explain the story. Most people... More

I'd always wanted to see the Bayeux Tapestry & this museum is just excellent. Timed tickets are designed to keep visitors moving cleanly through the light controlled exhibit, & the language specific headphones are very informative. An EXCELLENT museum with a very good shop - far more than I'd hoped for! More

I am not a museum person. I like to look at things at my own pace which is normally fast! You get a listening device and I was skeptical at first because the recording describes each of the different panels in the tapestry. But it was very interesting and went relatively quickly. The tapestry itself is amazing. Make sure to... More
