At 16E50, see everything here including all the films and war footage. Not as dramatic as the Imperial War museum in London or logical as the Musee of Armee in Paris. I was thinking of visiting this musuem to learn about the Normandy landings and Caen, but there is almost nothing covered about these subjects. I found caen memmorial museum, to be pitied. It has cheap items in flamboyant displays,you must pass the gift shop and restaurant three times to see the main exibits. They leave out things like France in vietnam or France in Algeria. For twenty dollars go have a good lunch. more

Was here in 2004 for the 60th anniversary festivities. Saw all the major sites and areas most have heard of. I had never heard of this museum/memorial and was blown away. Went to the museum several years ago with a group, and was really quite impressed (and I already knew a great deal about WWII). Movie was just super and the effects were riveting. Plan to go back this time with hubby. As other poster wrote, the food was cafeteria crummy. So, don't go for the food. more
