I was very disappointed with this museum. Not only because it has a mega pricey admission fee but also has very little to actually see in the conventional "exhibit" museum way. The Memorial of Caen is really a must-see place to start your visit of the Normandy beaches. It is an impressive place that explains very well the context pre-war and post-war as well as all the aspect of the war itself! A must-see. More

Unfortunately we had not appreciated how big and wonderful this memorial/museum would be. You really need at least 3 hours, more if you are a keen history buff. A must visit and definitely a day out. Modern and easy to follow museum making it all very interesting. Lots of school groups when we visited but unlike other museums I've been to they handled them well and didn't seem to interrupt our visit. Great shop and affordable cafe. More
