Why is this called the American Museum? They had a showing of one artist who was not American and it wasn't particularly good. He was obsessed with young maidens and bare breasts. Not atypical, but he was quite a commercial success in hiss time, painting murals for rich peopels' homes. Not impressed and I wouldn't waste my money or time.

I loved the exhibit that told the story of the museum. A beautiful collection and a must see if in Giverny. I would not travel to Giverny for the specific purpose of visiting this museum but don't pass up the opportunity to walk through if you are there.

The permanent collection is well worth the visit and the cafe is good for a break from the other cafes in Giverny. The gift shop is also remarkable.

Actualy the curators are excellent at choosing fine thematics & painters and the four exhibitions we saw were outstanding quality.
The restaurant that is partly uotside, though certainly not gastronomic offers good value for money with good service and the tables in the...

This little museum now punches well over its weight in this historic village of Giverny. It was my first visit and I almost gave this newly refurbished museum a miss because of the previous bad review for 1 November 2010 - which said "As for the paid exhibit, it's only 3 rooms and not worth the 7, 50 euros "....
