If you like wondering around old French towns, you'll love St Valery. The old city walls, the prison where Joan of Arc was inprisoned, the churches and the sceanery. The town has many fine sea food restaurants the competition helps keep the prices very reasonable. We dined on fruits de mer plus a bottle of wine for 10 euros. Excelent...

The bay is huge, there are many different spots, and the landscape is amazing.
There are shingle beaches with dunes on the south (forbidden to swim in some areas), huge spectacular sand beaches with more dunes on the north, amazing swamps, ponds and nature and more dunes all around the bay.
Many Atlantik Wall bunkers all around the coast.
