I had one day in La Rochelle at the end of a two week workshop in Nantes. I bought a ticket (8 euros) to visit the three ancient towers(les trois tours) that formed the ramparts of the old city. Each one offered a different perspective of the city. There is graffiti dating back centuries on the wall from soldiers, sailors...
