This a mystical, magical place with a real sense of history and place, The engineering brilliance required to design and construct the brudge is awe inspiring and the site will appeal to both children and adults. Aim to spend some time here and reflect a while. Dont forget your camera and some sturdy walking shoes for fully exploring the banks... more

Don't miss this. The parking will cost you about 5E but to see the bridge will not. Lovely walk to and across it via a recent 19th century bridge. Be sure to walk to the other side via a bath and carefully dip your toes in the water all the while admiring something incredible. Don't know anything about the quality... more

You can not miss seeing this Roman aqueduct if you are anywhere near it. We were based in Avignon so it took about 30 -40 minutes to get there. It was easy to find, just follow the highway signs. We parked in the Rive Gauche lot which is close to the museum. Parking is 5 e. We did not go... more

I got see the famous Pont du Gard on September 23, 2008. I'd heard about it but, I still wasn't prepared for the sight of it. It's like the Pyramids, pictures don't do it justice or have the impact of seeing it up close. It is an extraordinary structure. It is more amazing when you think of the technology the... more

The site itself was breath taking. The shear scale of the aqueduct was awe inspiring with the gorgeous river beneath. Easy to get to and walk around - easy for all abilities! My only bug bear was the extortionate prices of the food available. I would go back - but with a picnic. more

Was really looking forward to seeing this place as it had been recommende by a friend. Ended up being very disappointed. We got some details from the campsite, saying it was a great day out and about all the activities which were available, though no mention of any charges. Well they charge you for everything. 5 Euro car parking, which... more

If you are touring Languedoc-Roussillion on holiday - this Roman aqueduct is a must-see! It's a World Heritage Site situated between Avignon & Nimes, near the town of Remoulins. The actual site is free to visit. There is also a discovery area to complement the visit. More details can be found on www.pontdugard.fr. more

The Pont du Gard is one of the most amazing (and certainly scenic) Roman structures anywhere. IF you are anywhere in Provence, don't miss it. But leave plenty of time, as there is much to do other than look at (and cross) the bridge. There is a wonderful, quite new museum at the visitor's center which should not be missed.... more

This is a must see if you are staying in or near Avignon. The site, about a 30 minute drive from Avignon, is accessible by bus but a car is preferable. The parking lots are very large and there should not be a problem even in the height of the tourist season. If you are vigilant you can spot the... more
