We spent about an hour touring the Musee Granet-- many local artists but the creme de la creme are the Cezannes. It is being refurbished downstairs and the floor with the drawings was closed but it was worth the time and 4 Euros to visit

Not a whole lot here, but a nice small solid collection. The room packed full of Granet's collection is thoroughly enjoyable. The pre-roman artifacts in the basement are interesting. And, the sculpture room is interesting from the perspective of provencal and Aix history.
And, Cézanne's works of course are wonderful, but I wish there were more!

Located in an ancient church-the knights of Malta. Works by famous artists but not their best but the artist Granet is new to most, and very interesting. Also a sculpture presentation.

It has a very nice collection of paintings and statues. I spent about an hour here. My favorite works were actually those of Granet, who I didn't know about before my visit.

For such a well known Museum we were rather disappointed that we were not given a guide as to where to find various sections. It was very difficult to find one's way around.

Pleasantly surprised by its collection of 20th centuary artists. There was a good collection of temporary loans featuring Van Gogh, Picasso, Nicholas de Stael, Paul Klee etc. Great temporary exhibit too by Phillipe Favier (till 22 Apr). Definitely deserves an afternoon

An excellent art gallery; a good collection of modern art well displayed. Very pleasant part of Aix(the Mazarin District) Good temporary exhibits too. 4e But do not expect much Cezanne

le Granet seems small and insignificant...until you realize the hidden treasures. Aix has always been the country cousin of Paris, and the collections of the Granet have withstood the rebuff and bullying of the big city critics.
Consider that the Revolution ravished those families who collected and contributed. And that Impressionism was unfashionable at that time and place. You won't...

Very interesting. Too much to see on the first day so I went back the following day (and paid 4eoros again) to see the ground floor exhibition rooms, but they were closed for re-organisation.
