Coming to Provence from a week in Paris was a wonderful shift to a lower gear of sheer enjoyment and immersion into the gorgeous landscape, the history, the fresh and well prepared food, and the crisp wines of the region. Drawing on her 20 years of living in Provence Sarah Pernet was our perfect guide, maximizing our experience through conversation in advance of our trip to discern our interests and priorities and with her friendly, relaxed personae. I discovered Sarah through Rick Steves' recommendation of her in his "Provence" guidebook, describing her exactly as we found. Our four days with Sarah were full of new sights and experiences enriched with her knowledge of the history of each area visited. I've always said the mark of success is to leave your audience wanting more. I'm eager for a future visit to see more of this lovely region. Mission accomplished, Sarah! Until next time.

My sister and I were excited to see and learn about Provence and its rich history, beauty, and charm. We weren't disappointed thanks to our wonderful and knowledgeable guide, Sarah Pernet. Sarah's fluency in both French and English was a plus, and it was obvious from our first day together that her thoughtful and well-vetted destinations, shops and restaurants made each day fun and rewarding yet never hurried. Our four days in Provence went by so quickly and left me determined to return again. There's so much of Provence yet to see and do, and I would certainly consider seeking Sarah's guidance again in the future, she's terrific.

"Discover Provence" is what we did with Sarah on our 3 day tour in which we learned about Aix-en-Provence (including meeting the Lavendar Lady) on a walking tour, visited Cassis and took a boat ride into the Calanques before enjoying stunning views from one of the tallest maritime cliffs in Europe, to visits to several Luberon perched villages, concluding with exploring Van Gogh's presence in Arles and St. Remy, a view of Les Baux des Provence and a Cezanne immersion.

My wife and I very much enjoyed Sarah's company and conversation over the three days of our Provence experience. This was a great tour for those wanting to see a lot of what Provence has to offer, whether it is a one-time experience or just an opportunity to whet the appetite for future visits. Sarah was kind enough to offer to take pictures of us for our memories and to share with family and friends.

Over the past several years, we have taken a variety of tours through Europe - both private and group. This offering from Discover Provence is one of the best. We highly recommend it and Sarah as a tour guide.

I spent a few days with Sarah in Provence in September. She is a very friendly and professional guide who clearly feels passionately about Provence and is eager to share this experience and her stories with you. We did a great wine tasting which resulted in me buying a couple of cases and then we went to an olive oil degustation where there was delicious very green olive oil- the wallet was out again!
Too many highlights to list but the visit to the convent where Van Gogh spent a year being nursed by the nuns for mental health issues was very special. This beautiful convent still helps people with mental health issues today and many of the patients use paint therapy and copy some of Van Gogh’s works which you can buy! Sarah was very informative about Van Gogh and I learned some things I didn’t know.
Do ask Sarah to take you to the perched villages where time has stood still.
She’s also a good driver and her bus was very comfortable.
Great few days- thanks Sarah. I’ll be back!

My friend and I were on a trip to Paris and last minute decided to visit Provence. We found Sarah on Trip Advisor, we were so lucky that she had a last minute covid cancellation and slotted us in a 3 days Provence cultural and food tour. Sarah is amazing, she is very knowledgeable of the area, she was able to accommodate both my friend and my different interests.

Sarah is very professional and she is very flexible and willing to modify our itinerary on the fly.

Sarah, thanks so much for making our Provence trip a memorable and stress free vacation, we’ll treasure our memories for many years.

I’ll definitely return to hike the hills in Provence with you.

I can’t say enough about Sarah. She truly made our 3 days in Provence a flawless experience.
I went to Provence with my girlfriend and we each wanted something different, she managed to give us exactly what we wanted. I got my souvenirs which I’ll cherish for many years to come, from the best Olive oil to the cutest Provençal pottery and my gorgeous basket and my favorite yummy Gilbassier (must try)
Her choice of restaurants
Were amazing , We’re still talking about the delicious food she took us to.
She also recommended the lovely hotel we stayed in which was perfect.

Sarah, we can’t thank you enough for the best 3 days we got to spend with you.

My mom and I traveled to Provence as part of our two-week trip to France. Because Provence is so large and difficult to reach without a car, I booked two days with Sarah Pernet to show us the region and help up make the most of our time. We left with incredible memories, breathtaking scenery, great conversation and can’t wait to go back!

Sarah took extra care to get to know our interests and expectations and planned two wonderful days for us. On the second day, we visited the St. Remy Market, Les Baux de Provence, and a monastery where Van Gogh lived for a portion of his life. Sarah explained the culture and meaning behind what we were seeing (and tasting!) with nuggets of information that we would have never known otherwise, and just the right amount of history to provide context.

Knowing the local food and culture were very important to us, Sarah made reservations at a wonderful restaurant with typical Provencal fare that was out of this world! Because of her incredible relationships, we were able to visit an olive mill and watch olives being harvested into olive oil.

Sarah was incredibly patient and flexible. For example, when I wanted to dart in a shop, and suggested pushing back lunch a half hour, she was very accommodating. There were no headaches or getting lost, everything about the day felt easy and wonderful. The only bad part was saying goodbye. After our time together, Sarah felt more like a friend. As my mom and I continued our travels to other parts of France, we kept saying we wish Sarah were here! I can’t recommend Discover Provence enough.

We were so pleased with our tour of Provence with Sarah Pernet. She is very personable, professional, and knowledgeable. Sarah provided history and relevant cultural information. She has curated a well timed day of stops throughout the region, including fabulous vistas, that exceeded our expectations. It was just what we hoped for when we chose this tour. Our day consisted of visiting and learning about several villages, wine tasting at a vineyard, viewing the beautiful fall landscape and a glorious garden, as well as a delicious lunch. There was time on our own to shop for high quality Provencal goods. We purchased original art directly from the artist. You will feel like you are touring with a knowledgeable friend, and not at all like a tourist. We highly recommend Discover Provence tours!

We recently met with Sarah for a one day tour to Cassis. It couldn’t have been a better tour! She is very knowledgeable, is very accommodating and just a pleasant person to spend an afternoon with exploring. We would definitely when visiting We would definitely book with Sarah again when we visit Provence.
She also gave a dinner recommendations and that same evening we went to one of the restaurants she spoke of, “Cote cour Restaurant.” Wow! It was wonderful.
Thank you Sarah, you made the day very special.

I had been to France, studied briefly in Aix en Provence as a teenager. I always wanted to go back and show my husband this beautiful area of the country. There was much I had not seen or remembered and we both wanted a good guide to expand our experience. We read several Rick Steves books and found a recommendation of Sarah Pernet as a tour guide. I contacted her through the website provided in his book and she promptly responded. She was able to fit us in for a day tour and we confirmed the meeting in advance of our trip. Sarah was an absolute delightful and a very important, extremely educational piece to our experience. She was highly knowledgeable, clearly had a passion for her work and for the places she took us. She was able to give insights as well as history, personal stories in addition to specific destinations. She’s an excellent driver, which also adds to putting one at ease. But most importantly Sarah is devoted and passionate about her chosen home of Provence. That kind of spirit along with detailed knowledge is the recipe for anyone’s successful day tour experience. I highly recommend Sarah Pernet. You won’t be disappointed.
