Go there when you want to enjoy some peace and quiet. The house is restored and you can feel Renoir and his family´s spirit there. Been going to the South of France---usually stay in Cannes---for more than 25 years and still get the chills when I visit Renoir's home. I always get the eerily mystical feeling that the great man's presence still is in the vicinity. An enchanting place with great views of the picturesque surroundings. I understand Renoir has been gone for 93 years,...

Renoir's house is situated in a very prestigious part of Cagnes-sur-Mer, and over looks the medieval town and the hills that surround. Beautiful view.
I love how they have Renoir's painting outside that he has done...right next to the object of the painting.
The house is just incredible as well. We stayed there for just over two hours.

Visiting on a short...

There is a well-kept garden with trees being planted to reconstruct it as truly as possible, where a huge bank slopes away from you down to a stream...

This was proably the single most charming site we visited on our recent trip to the Cote d'Azur. The home where Renoir spent his last 30 years has been preserved much as it was when he died in 1919. Particulary evocative is his studio, which is outfitted with his wheelchair placed in front of an easel. Several Renoir paintings and...
