I walked all around Ile S.te Marguerite (approx. 2 hours non-stop walk) and I found it very nice. Very nice views, beautiful waters in the north side, a lot of green, a little pond and a good history: the Fort is a nice visit. So, if you have 4-5 hours to spend, do not miss Ile S.te Marguerite. We go to Cannes once or twice per year and have never taken the ferry over to the islands. This year we had our son and his cousin (17 year old boys) and needed something one day that would be interesting for them to do. Took the ferry (9 Euros round trip) over to the island. We explored the prison area (free for students) and museum. It was interesting to learn about the prisoners, such as the man in the iron mask and see the actual cells they were held in. Few things in the museum were explained in english. There are no pictures allowed... more
