We walked up to the Monastere from Musee Matisse and strolled in the grounds without spending much time in the Monastere itself. But the grounds are worth the trip and, moreover, allow you to look down onto the port. More

We took the open top bus tour and got off here as I'd read about the gardens, roman ruins etc. took a simple but very tasty picnic and had a great time exploring this lovely area. Well worth a half day. Take bus no 17 to Cimiez for 1 euro. It's much cheaper than bus tour if you just want... More

An excellent place to get away from the husstle and busstle of the City. Sit in the gardens and take in the views of the port, calm down and relax before returning to the high life More

No improvements visible - no one has concreted over anything here. This monastery allows you to feel the past, the fervour of those who built and inhabited it. More

The convent has a nice garden but alone it's not worth the trip. Stop by if you are already visiting the nearby Matisse Museum or the Roman ruins More

I got into the gardens by pure chance and was rewarded with this fantastic place full of color! Their flowers are amazing and the views awesome. But what I likes the most was the peace and serenity in the atmosphere. The Church is closed for tourist visits on Wednesday due to an all-day religious activity but the garden was really... More

We didn't know about the Monastery as such, we went to the area for the Matisse museum, strolled around the park outside it and found ourselves outside the monastery. The gardens are beautifully laid out and are very picturesque. The view down over the town and coast are beautiful. More
