They have made some attempt here but more detailed explanations, a few anecdotes would make it far more interesting. However, it is on a lovely small street in the middle of old Nice, you can imagine living there at the time.

The series of Cleopatra tapestries really give a sense of the various ways she has been viewed by differing countries; these and the various piano/keyboards were quite interesting and enjoyable. We went through the Palais quickly on our own but I would recommend trying to be there for one of the guided tours; I'm sure I would have gotten more...

In the midst of old Nice is a small palace which has two things of interest: an old pharmacy and very old instruments.

Tucked away in a narrow alley in the old town, this deserves a visit. The baroque sculptures and decor are well preserved and you can see how grand this place must have been.

This odd building is likely the only one you will be able to visit inside the old town. Should be free - hours might be odd- If you are in the old town wander by.

It's free, it is conveniently located in old Nice, it has free bathrooms. Best of all, it will help you to really understand what it was like to live (as a wealthy person!). It doesn't take long to see it, but it gives you great view into the past.

This museum is great! It's housed in an old house that was owned by some rich person. There are lots of information in English and a couple of floors of things to look at. The staff are quite friendly and helpful and the bathroom is clean.
