Taking the No.81 bus from Nice round to Cap Ferrat approx 30 mins. The views from the coast road were superb. Past Villefranche and eventually ended up directly outside the entrance to the Villa and Gardens. After a short walk uphill I paid my 10 Euros admission. This villa was absolutely incredible. It is easily accessible from Villefranche via bus system, and definitely worth it. The gardens are really the highlight of the property. I visited the villa and gardens while staying in Nice. The tourist office told me to take the #81 bus from Nice's Gare Routiere, or main bus terminal. The information desk inside can direct you to which stand the bus leaves from, and there are 2/3 an hour. What a bargain at 1 Euro each direction. The trip takes about... more
There is no unifying theme to either garden or the collection, but it's quintissentially captured the social mores of a bygone era. The fountain movements to Viennese music are unintentionally hilarious... It's very easy to conjure up her diva-like personality from the overly obsequeous pamphlets and video loop. more
