This incredible chapel is simple and beautiful! We caught the 400 bus from the Gare Routiere and used our bus and tram pass (only €14 for 7 days) though the cost is only €1 for the journey. There was no direction sign from the bus station to the chapel but the locals were delightfully obliging and pointed us to the... More

We were warned beforehand about the fact it may not be open but after quite a journey we found this attraction was closed. A note from the nuns said that it was extraordinary circumstances but we had been warned about the capricious nature of the custodians. Better to shedule a visit to St Paul Village or Foundation Maeght for the... More

We took the bus to Vence from Nice - a bargain at 1 Euro each way. This small chapel is amazing. Matisse designed every detail. More

I would have enjoyed the Chapelle more if it hadn't been blown up so much in advance, especially by Matisse himself ("my greatest achievement"). The Chapelle is adorable and artistically interesting. We loved a lot of the details, like the cut-out carvings on the door to the confessional. But a masterpiece? Probably not. Also, there are no toilets! So yes,... More

If one is at all interested in Matisse's work, this is an absolute must, especially if one can visit it on a winter morning, as Matisse suggested. And do visit the Matisse Museum in Nice first, to see Matisse's sketches in preparation for the actual building of the Chapel. For us, we rarely have seen an artist's work translated into... More

This is a chapel and it is beautiful in all its simplicity. You would like to sit down for some contemplation. But you will be disturbed by the entrance fee and also guided tourist groups. A pity that it just can be a chapel. Well, beautiful anyway. More

It was closed! It is out of town and we didn´t bothered to ask if it was closed because it is a church, so we guess it would be always opened. More

All visitors to he Cote D'Azur really should take a trip up to Vence to see this Chapelle - and the lovely old town. Many folks don't get past St Paul De Vence - a few miles down the hill and very good too, but you really should make the effort. The Chapelle is an absolute masterpiece and a fantastic... More

I visited the Chapelle du Rosaire a few times . The place strikes with simplicity . The Matisse is nice but I have seen nicer works in the Nice meusium and the Foundation in St Paul de Vence . However , every seaon has its own beautiful light and the view is different ! More

the Chapel itself is a delight, Small and bright, clean lines with beautiful colors. Thoughtful, practical applications. The podium was designed at an angle to view the entire surface, thereby presiding and speaking to one and all in the room. The visit included a small presentation in English by one of the sisters. We were then, shuttle to the next... More
