I just got back from doing a guided Tour du Mont Blanc with the Alpine Hikers company (http://www.alpinehikers.com). The trip was an amazing experience. We hiked through France, Switzerland and Italy, enjoying amazing views every day. The hiking was strenuous - 6-8 hours each day with a lot of steep up- and down- hill climbs. The Tour du Mont Blanc is a 6-10 day trek of approx. 100 miles around the base of the Mont Blanc, Western Europe's highest mountain at almost 16,000 feet. The trail goes through France, Italy, and Switzerland and features varied and spectacular scenery. (See some pictures below)
