Fantastic skiing in late April. Big mountain w a perfect angle for skiing. Surprisingly old ski lifts, with limited capacity is the only downturn. More

Go on a beautiful day and take the tram up to the top, climb the stairs for an incredible view. Then ski down. More

As an intermediate skier, I was a bit taken aback to do my first run on a very slushy (spring snow) red at the Grand Montets - that was a challenge! Didn't realise it's considered quite a tough ski area! Fun though. More

Good in spring as the snow holds up a bit better than the other areas. It has a park as well for afternoon entertainment, although this is busy. More

Do the black runs at the top - totally worth paying the additional lift pass fees More

Really loved the runs in Les Grands Montets. Some fantastically challenging red and blue runs. You won't be disappointed, and the shorter bus journey makes it a more preferable destination than Le Tour, which is also fantastic, but the buses get really busy. More

1) it can be awfully cold, the north orientation of the slopes is just terrible 2) it is most of the time totally overcrowded 3) the food is terrible everywhere I have eaten so far 4) you need to wait SO MUCH before buying your daily pass and going up 5) there are not so many slopes, so basically nothing... The slopes are mostly north-facing and sufficiently steep that the sun hardly touches them. I think the pistes were a bit icy (although well groomed) but spent most of the time away from them. The queue for the gondola to the top is an annoyance, the best ways down are a bit fraught because of the crevasses in the glacier. More

Nice place, with intermediate-high level skiiers. Views are nice. It's good for a couple of days. For longer time would suggest to try the areas around. Short lines and well managed station. More
