The things that impressed me most about the cathedral were the mosaics. At first I just admired their beauty, until I realized that they were Pre-Raphaelite in style. I had never before seen any church with Pre-Raphaelite decor. They are wonderful. more

We took the funiculare up to Fourviere from Vieux Lyon. Once up. we enjoyed the view of the city from next to the church. We then went inside the church, which is beautiful. Because it's up on the hillside, it has a great view looking over the city - old and newer. It has a modern look from the outside (though it dates from before 1896).
