Wow, finding this hidden gem is quite the exercise in perseverance. Best to ask at an Information Office and if possible they might know how to get there. It is between the two famous and exclusive thermal spa resorts, but down below. It has limited hours so definitely find out the hours before trying to locate it. It was only... More

We went there, but it was closed on that particular day. How ever, it didn't really look like much trough peeking trough the windows. It's a preserved excavation site, showing an original roman bath-house as-it-were....but it looked like something you might walk trough in 30 minutes tops, I may be wrong. Located below the Friedrichsbad main entrance, in the hallway... More

It's neat to see the old ruins, but the display wasn't quite what I expected. More

These ruins are significant to see, just for their age, and to bring home the reality that the baths of this town have been a destination for so very long. THere's not much to look at in the ruins, which are below the Freiderichsbad structure. You cant really stroll through them as much as see them behind glass. Took me... More

My wife and I are students of Roman history so we found this sight quite interesting and reasonably priced. It is well preserved and the auto guides are quite good. If you are not a history buff, then you might want to skip this attraction. More

You can't really tell what anything was. The audio guide attempts to make it better and the staff is nice and they give you biscuits at the end More

Well, when we: a) found it(with ENORMOUS difficulty considering these are the reasons Baden Baden is there) and b) got in(at the appointed hour, and I mean hour -open only two hours a day, 12 -1pm I think and 3-4pm the place remained resolutely shut and after a quarter of an hour we went upstairs, twice, to some Beauty Spa... Check the hours before you visit - they have very limited visiting hours. The ruins are small and in ok condition, but the audio tour (in multiple languages) is well worth the time and money. We spent about 40 minutes and felt that was plenty of time. This is nothing like the bath ruins in Bath England or Trier Germany,... More

Included in the Euro 2.50 entrance fee is an audio guide. I suggest you take this as it explains in detail about the excavation and the functions of each area. Some of it is factual, and some is assumption but it gives you a good flavour of what the baths were about. The museum is only open for one out... More
