We just returned from Munich, Germany and we went to Neuschwanstein Castle on a trip with Mike's Bike Tours. Our guide, Steve, was wonderful! He was a riot!!! Steve made sure my husband & I got on the bus up to the castle while the others hiked up the mountain. We were more than old enough to be everyone's parents... more

Lets see, Its November 2008 and we just got back from Germany. We had the chance to take a day excursion to Neuschwanstein Castle. Booked in the U.S. through Viator tours. Serviced in Munich by Radius Tours. I can say it was worth every penny spent..which wasnt too badly priced. The group met at the main train terminal. We took... more

Booked our tickets when we arrived & did both Castles. As we had a Bavarian Castles pass we did not have to pay for Neushwanstein. Tickets are timed & we caught the crowded bus up to Maria Brucke & walked from there. The tour groups are large and you do not get to spend a lot of time in each... more

Very enjoyable visit to this fairytale castle. Defintely get there early, or reserve your tickets in advance. We reserved ours early in the U.S., and they have a separate line for reserved tickets. If you show up at 8 or 9 (whenever they open), they line will be very short even without reservations. By 10, it is a zoo. The... more

The fairy tale castle is absolutely beautiful and a must see if anywhere near Munich. The tour is worth the 9 euros. You must go on the bridge above the castle for the best views. more

Neuschwanstein Castle is a magestic looking building which was apparently the model for the Disney World castle. It was clearly built for show (and not for defense) and features interesting towers, colors and some neat displays of wealth inside. Unfortunately, you can't take pictures inside the castle, so snap as many photos as you can while walking around it. Overall,... more

As we drove into the Fussen area the Castles appear on the great mountain side. It seems almost unreal as they looked pirched on the edge of the mountian. My family really enjoyed seeing the history of the castles. The best part for us was coming over to the castles the night before we took the tour when the castles... more

My husband and I visited Neuschwanstein Castle on our honeymoon in spring 2007. The castle is like a fairytale.. high upon a hill, looking over rolling green mountains. It really is an amazing sight and experience. I highly recommend reading about this castles short history before you visit. Its inhabitant was in interesting man who had many quirks, but an... more

Went to Neuschwanstein Castle in March 2008. The place was as beautiful as shown on the postcards and Internet. I drove there from Munich taking around 1 hr and 40 minutes. There was not much traffic jam as I drove on the Autobahn most of the way. I decided to drive there because I read on websites that taking a... more

We just returned from visiting Neuschwanstein Easter break. We waited until late in the week to go, as the weather was too snowy early on. Plan your trip for a day that you will be able to see the castle from afar! It is definitely worth it. We took the train from Munich using the Bavaria Ticket, a great deal.... more
